Welcome to the A-Z of Fishing

Over the next twelve months we will be adding a wide selection of articles about fishing. Fishing is one of the world's most popular sports enjoyed by men, women and children from all backgrounds. While many are hobbyist anglers there are a great many people who gain their living from fishing. There are many pro anglers who travel the world entering a wide range of competitions with various prizes but there is a far great number of people who earn their living catering for the needs of pro, amateur and hobby amateurs.

We hope to bring a wealth of fishing information to you, over the next year or so, which, we hope, should be useful to all. There are so many different types of fishing that it will require us to add more info year after year. However we have decided that we will initially concentrate on fly fishing and some of the other most popular types of fishing before we progress into exploring some of the more unusual aspects of this wonderful sport.

Our writers are primarily based in Scotland, so the bulk of our knowledge has been gained by fishing in Scotland but many of the techniques and equipment are equally applicable around the globe. We also have some experience of fishing in nearby Iceland, Finland and several other countries in Europe. One of our lucky writers has traveled to several far flung places such as Alaska and, over the years, has had an incredible number of vacations and so we hope to draw heavily upon his knowledge (and we also hope that he imparts some of his little secrets too).
